What is a logistics designer?
A logistics designer is a highly skilled logistics specialist. Almost all the logistics designers connected to the Vereniging Logistiek Ontwerpers (VLO) are graduates of the International Program in Logistics Management Systems (former Ontwerpersopleiding Logistieke Besturingssystemen). However also other people working in logistics or with a strong interest in logistics are VLO members. The logistics designer has the skills to analyse the existing (logistic) business processes or the existing supply chain. Furthermore his specialism is to redesign the logistics management system or the supply chain, starting from the chosen business strategy. A logistics management system in general consists of the following parts: - A recommendation on the (physical) configuration, - The matching control concept, - A fitting organizational structure, - The belonging information requirements. After the design phase the logistics designer is capable of playing an important role in the team advising on and co-operating in the implementation of the logistics management system. He or she can create the logistics direction of the company in co-operation with the general management.

The goal of the VLO PLUS Bank
To be able to assist in the search for highly skilled logistics specialists the VLO created the VLO PLUS Bank. This is a database to allow companies to bring their logistic or supply chain vacancies to the majority of the VLO members. The goal of the VLO PLUS Bank is to allow companies to approach logistics designers with matching vacancies and to give its members first hand access to interest company propositions. Because the VLO has access to a large number of highly skilled members she is able to deliver excellent support in approaching the right person for logistic vacancies. In the VLO PLUS Bank database there are both recently graduated students from the above-mentioned International Program in Logistics Management Systems as well as members with broad and long time experience (up to twenty years) in the field of logistics and supply chain management, who are ready to take the next steps in their career.

How the VLO PLUS Bank works
The VLO PLUS Bank gives you the opportunity to send you vacancy via direct mail to all VLO members who have indicated that they are interested in receiving vacancies. The costs involved are limited to only 1 Euro per member. In this way you reach a growing group of logistics professionals, because the number of members of the VLO is still growing. Currently approximately over 200 members are subscribed to receiving the VLO PLUS Bank mailings. Furthermore you have the opportunity to have you vacancy posted on the VLO Internet site for a limited time. The time the vacancy remains online can be agreed on between your company and the VLO. There are no additional costs related to this service, but it is only available in combination with the above-mentioned direct mailing.
